Two Administrator Account – How to Disable One Account

This is weird thing that happen with me yesterday. Since I was experimenting some tricks, I created a new administrator account and rebooted the system. To my surprise I was login to new administrator account, which has none of my settings. Then I thought in which account I am working earlier. Then I realize that the other administrator account is the computer which can only be seen in the safe mode, that’s where I was working earlier.

Now I have two Administrative accounts:-

1. Computer as Administrator
2. User as Administrator

I created this user as Administrator for just testing some tricks and since test was successful, I don’t need anymore. So Read the story how I struggle to delete it.

Since Computer as Administrative was visible only in Safe mode. So I login in the safe mode and saw the two administrative account and tried to delete the newly created administrative account but it didn’t work.

It said that you need to create another administrator account in order to delete another one.

Obliviously you can’t delete administrator account itself. One method is creating another administrator account and deletes the other but it doesn’t solve the problem in the way I wanted.

What I wanted is that whenever I login the system, my earlier account with usual setting should open.

So it can be done in only two methods:

Either delete the new administrator account or disable it.

I tried to delete it but it didn’t work with me or rather say I don’t know how to do it but I know how to disable it. So guys if you too ever face this problem, I bet you’ll try to remember this tricks. It’s too easy and just try to follow the steps to make it work for you.

How to Disable the Administrator Account on Windows XP (In case you have two)

Note: - Before you disable the Administrator account, make sure that there is at least one other administrator network (in my case, it is computer administrator account) who can gain access to the computer with administrator permission. Otherwise, you will not be able to reverse this action in the future.

To follow the following steps, you must be using a computer that is running Windows 2000 or Windows XP, and you must be logged on with an account that has administrator privileges.

1. Log on as Administrator, or as a user with administrator permissions.
2. Right-click MY Computer, and then click Manage.
3. In the left pane, expand the Local Users and Groups node, and then click Users.
4. In the right pane, double-click the Administrator account.
5. On the General tab, select the Account is disabled check box, and then click OK.
6. Quit the Computer Management console. The new setting tale effect the next time you attempt to log to this computer.

If we have more than two administrative account, we can delete the other one easily but here since computer as administrator acts as transparency, it doesn’t help in deleting the other administrative account easily. If anyone of you know how to do it, you can share the information with us.
