Gmail is the most popular email provider service right now. Millions of people are using it. There are many reasons behind people sticking with Gmail. Despite the awesome features of Gmail, there is a lot of complain about Sponsored ads that shows up in the Gmail account. Whenever you browse any email, you will see that the sponsored ads show in the right sidebar and another ad shows up in the sponsored link bar. Although many people find these sponsored ads to be informative (sponsored ads are most of the time related information to the email you are browsing) but many of them don’t like it.
Those who like they can take stick with it but what about other people who don’t like the sponsored ads. What is the best solution for them? In my opinion it will be best if we can remove those sponsored ads that show up in the Gmail account. Is it really possible? Yeah it absolutely possible, with the use of just two simple sentences at the end of email, you can remove the sponsored ads that show up in the sidebar.
Awesome what are those two magic sentences? First of all check out the logic behind these two sentences, the logic is laid by a blogger called Joe McKay, he mentioned in his blog that Gmail don’t put up ads when you mention catastrophes or tragedies in your mail. He further wrote that
Google does not use humans to read your email, only computers. These computers search for keywords that trigger the advertisements, however, if they happen to find a catastrophic event or tragedy Google errs on the side of good taste and removes the ads altogether.
Later based on Joe McKay logic, two sentences are framed by life hacker. The sentences are –
I enjoy the massacre of ads. This sentence will slaughter ads without a messy bloodbath.
Just check out the image of Gmail when normal email was sent. You will see that there are lots of sponsored ads in the right side.
Now check out the image of Gmail when those two sentences framed by life hacker are written. You will see that the sponsored ads totally disappeared.
Now you got the idea how to removed sponsored ads from the right side of Gmail but how to removed the ads thatshow up in the sponsored link bar?
The removal of sponsored link bar ads can be done very easily; you can remove that ad by simply changing the setting in the Gmail itself. Here’s the procedure:-
- Go to the settings page
- Click on “web clips†and uncheck the box for “show my web clips above the inboxâ€
That’s it. You have now completely removed the sponsored ads from your Gmail. Congrats!!! Have fun:)
